March 13th, 2004 -- Yo don't listen to your mama syndrome!

It's been a while now, but the other day I was on campus near Regan/Cowell Student health center. Well, you know the road that leads you to Regan main? there's a stop sign there in the intersection with California. Well, for those of you who don't know, most of time there are a lot of froshies coming out of that road on their bikes, and the thing is froshies don't usually stop at the stop sign (which I can sorta understand, come on, it's a bike, not a car...), but the law is the law. Anyways, here's what happened.

So I was on the side walk walking toward Student Health Center, and on my way there, I passed by the intersection I just described. I saw this girl who looked like she was either on the water polo team or swim team on her way to practice, and she was also on the phone too. Well, she didn't stop at the stop sign, and I saw this bike cop on the other side of the street going toward her direction. So basically she ran the stop sign right in front of the cop. Well, needless to say, she got pulled over...Well, this is nothing too surprising, I've seen it happen a bunch of other times. (The story begins about 5 seconds after that.)

So, on my way to pass by the stop sign, I saw another girl biking really fast down the road just as the other girl did 20 seconds ago. She passed by me about 10~15 feet before she reached the stop sign. Seeing that she didn't seem to have the intention of stopping for the sign ('cause she didn't brake at all, really...) I just talk as loud as I could without having the cop hearing me, "Hey, you better stop, there's a cop right there!" Well, She didn't stop at all and just ran the stop sign like the other one did. Well, obviously the bike cop caught her too and I could see those two gals are definitely not happy. I've been thinking that  either she thought I was mumbling things and ignore my advice, or she just didn't hear it, or she simply was too  stubborn to hear any advice. Anyways, I did my best trying to save her from the cop, but she didn't listen!!

Sigh...That's what I call "YO-DON'T-LISTEN-TO-YOUR-MAMA SYNDROM!"

March 12th, 2004 -- Half eaten rotten banana

Now, I don't know what most of you would do. but come on, why would you just leave a half-eaten banana in the fridge and let it rot... it's absolutely disgusting. I suppose if you're going for the "cool" banana effect, it might be understandable, but come on, plz put a plate or something underneath, 'cause laying it bare in the fridge is just not quite the way to go. ewe....

It's funny, I was watching Tarzan last night, and this guy, Jon, brought up a point that how Tarzan doesn't have any hair on his arm or legs or chest or back....etc... I mean seriously, Tarzan looked white to me...unless Tarzan made a personal razor of some sort out of a sharp stone, it's quite hard to keep yourself clean of hair growing on you.
------My conclusion-------

TARZAN IS ACTUALLY ASIAN....

and so is Jane.....

blame it on the Disney people who can't draw...that's right....

March 8th, 2004 -- Welcome, Spring!

Sunshine, light breeze, green trees... my favorite season, spring, has come! It's about time to get on the quad to throw Frisbees, bike to school and run around the green belt that's actually green.

Last Sat. (6th), Nick, John, Julie and I went to Yoshi's to see Dave Weckl, Victor Wooten, and Mike Stern. Man, are these guys awesome! This is the kinda of combo you'd only see a few times in your entire life. God has given these guys such great talents in playing music. It was incredible. Dave Weckl, my favorite drummer in the entire world, was without a doubt awesome in his solos. Victor Wooten, the best bassist I've seen, can play the bass like no other. He can play it so fast that it's as if he was playing a guitar 'cause all the notes just coming out one after another. Mike Stern was cool too. His bluesy rocky feel just added a lot in the whole jazz scene. I wish I could see them every day or have any of them teach me how to play the instruments. Man! it was so good!

I took some pictures and all to show you all how great of a time we had, but unfortunately Doug's computer erased all the pictures!!! SAD TIMES!!! >.<   So I have nothing to show....sigh...I even had a picture with Mike Stern too!!! darn it!

Church at DCA on Sunday was pretty interesting. I felt very freeing because of the style of their worship. Not so much their music necessarily, but it's the whole atmosphere of the church. People are just able to pray out loud and praising God during music was playing. I love it because I can really feel people are really there to worship. I could be wrong about this, but what's the point of going to a worship service when you can't express to God how you really feel? I believe true worship is when you're able to stand up, clap, shout, yell out of your own desire to worship. But of course, this is just strictly my opinion. There are probably lots of people out there who would disagree, but oh well.

I've recently had so many dreams that are really funky. Last night I dreamed I was a power ranger. A few nights ago I dreamed I was part of the Lord of the Rings character, and I think I might've either been Frodo or Sam. Another weird dream I had was that Dave Weckl was teaching how to play the drums and he told me he was an electrical engineer too. Well, it's just funky....anyways....

March 1st, 2004 -- finally here...

So many things, so little time to do them in...Life's been pretty crazy yet in some way satisfying this past week/month. My senior design project Natcar has been taking so much of time that sometimes I barely have time to sleep, but it's okay. My partner Doug and I have been able to make it work somewhat. We'll see how we do on picnic day next quarter! Here we come, yo!

Weather has been so fickle. The whole rainy/sunny deal is just not quite working out for me. I demand sunshine, so that I can go run around in the beautiful city of Davis. I demand sunshine so that I can go out and play Frisbee like I always do.

I'm seriously contemplating on taking less classes next quarter so that I will have time for music. One of my dreams has always been performing my own songs at places like Boarder's open mic, or even just to have a band or something. Drumming and Guitaring have been somewhat  lacking compared to what it used to be. Maybe it's a good thing that I'm spending more time on school, but I just wish I had more time and to even play with the worship team more. Also, I feel like I haven't done a good enough job as a bible study leader. I know there's always room for more, but at the same time I feel like I haven't really invested in people's lives deep enough. I'm puzzled sometimes about what to do. There just seems to be only so much time yet so many things to do.

I finally gave P.J. the gift I got for him last summer! It's been almost 6 months!! check it out here...

Jules and I went down to San Jose to visit my family this past weekend. My mom took us to a Japanese restaurant and armadillo willy's. yummy~~~!!
